Squarespace's strength is taste. The defaults are better than most competitors, the typography is well-considered, and a site you ship in an afternoon will look more professional than a Wix site shipped in the same time. Where it falls short is that 'in an afternoon' assumption.

Templates anchor what you can change
Squarespace makes more interesting design choices than most competitors, but those choices are baked into the template you pick. Wanting a section that the template doesn't support means hours of CSS injection or migrating to a different template entirely — both are projects.

Every menu update, every photo swap, every opening-hours change is a Squarespace login, a layout decision, a publish step. Doing it once is a 10-minute task; doing it 40 times a year while running a business is the actual cost.

Squarespace covers the basics — sitemap, meta, basic structured data — but accessibility, advanced structured data, multilingual handling, and per-page SEO are still on you. The platform helps; it doesn't replace an SEO person.

If you're on Squarespace today.
We rebuild on our own infrastructure rather than fighting an export. Your Squarespace site stays live until we launch the new one; the cutover is a single DNS change and we coordinate the timing with you. Domain transfers from Squarespace's registrar take 24–48 hours and we handle the unlock-and-transfer dance.

- Different, and we'd argue more distinctive. Squarespace's strength is good-by-default templates; ours is design that's actually about your business. If your current Squarespace site is already excellent, the question is whether you'd rather keep operating it or hand it off.
- Can I keep my Squarespace domain?
- Yes. If your domain is registered through Squarespace, we walk you through the transfer (it's not difficult, just a few steps). If it's elsewhere, we connect it without moving the registrar.
- What about my Squarespace e-commerce store?
- On the Commerce plan we rebuild the store with your full catalogue, payment integrations, and the courier/shipping integrations the market expects. We migrate product images and copy from your existing Squarespace store; we don't migrate orders or customer accounts (those stay with Squarespace).
- What if I just want a designer for a one-off project?
- We don't do one-off projects — the model is monthly subscription. If you want a project agency, that's a different category. Email us anyway; we'll point you at one we trust.
